Until relatively recently, knowledge was power. This was true because few had information and it was kept close to the chests of those who had it. In sales, if I needed to know something I needed to reach out and the salesperson had the power.
Over time that changed. At first, few had access to education, facts, and information. More recently it was hard to find, access, analyse and make sense of.
As we know, the internet has changed all this. Is wisdom the new gold standard?
Knowledge is the facts, specifications, features and benefits
Wisdom is sensing the right time to use the knowledge, experience and deep industry and client understanding to create the best possible outcome
Knowledge is being able to present your solution with a wow factor
Wisdom is co-solutions created with insights drawn from the collective experience of your client, own organisation and partners
Knowledge is knowing your products and services inside out
Wisdom is investing as much time learning about your client’s business to solve their problems
Knowledge is knowing that our body language, tone and words are powerful tools
Wisdom knows that listening and silence are also a powerful tools
Knowledge is connecting with as many potential buyers as possible
Wisdom is qualifying carefully to connect with the decision-makers and influencers others would never have thought to add value to
The game has changed, knowledge is not enough on its own, How will you become wise? One is knowing WHAT to think; the other is knowing HOW to think.
